FAQs

  • Not at all. Many of my clients are high-functioning individuals who look “fine” on the outside but feel overwhelmed or disconnected underneath. Therapy is a space to address those feelings before they become a crisis.

  • No referral is required. You are welcome to book a session at any time. As our services are not currently Medicare rebatable, you can access support immediately without the need for a Mental Health Care Plan or a GP appointment. This allows us to focus entirely on your needs from day one, with no clinical paperwork required from your end.

  • I work with teens, adults, and families who are navigating the complexities of stress, trauma, anxiety, grief, burnout, or major life transitions. Many of my clients are high-functioning individuals who appear to be managing well on the outside but are seeking a safe, professional space to address the challenges they are facing underneath.

  • While Stress Therapy Australia is not Medicare-funded at this time, we aim to make counselling accessible and affordable. Rebates are often available for clients with appropriate Private Health Insurance Extras cover.

We are recognized providers for the following funds:

Bupa & Medibank: Recognized provider status for eligible extras products.

ahm & HCF: Coverage for products including Psychology and Counselling.

ARHG Group: Including Police Health, Teachers Union Health, Phoenix, St Luke’s, and Emergency Services Health.

HBF: Reimbursable under the ADF Family Health Program.

We encourage you to check with your specific health fund to confirm your exact rebate eligibility before your first session.

  • My approach is trauma-informed, inclusive, and evidence-based. I believe that the foundation of effective therapy is a genuine therapeutic connection built on safety and trust.

Rather than a one size fits all method, sessions are personally tailored to your unique goals and pace. I prioritize your choice and collaboration at every step, ensuring you feel empowered to address what is happening 'underneath' in a way that feels manageable and supported.

  • Standard sessions are 60 minutes in length. Regarding frequency, there is no 'one size fits all' approach; it depends entirely on your unique needs, goals, and current level of support.

Many clients find that weekly or fortnightly sessions provide a steady and grounded momentum when they first begin addressing what’s happening 'underneath'. As you move toward your goals, we may choose to space sessions further apart. We will discuss and review a schedule that feels sustainable and supportive for you during our first session.

  • During our first session, we will focus on creating a steady and grounded space for you to share your story. We will discuss your current challenges, what you’ve been navigating 'underneath', and what meaningful support looks like for you.

Most importantly, this is an opportunity for you to see if my approach feels right for you. There is no pressure to 'perform'; it is simply a collaborative conversation to determine how we can best work together toward your goals.
